Sometimes, eating a balanced diet and getting the odd bit of exercise just isn't enough. We explore the weight loss tricks that some celebs swear by!
Being a celebrity involves spending time in the spotlight – and with this comes an often scathing opinion from the critical public eye. From slimming down as they prepare for film roles to gearing up for concerts and gigs, many stars feel pressure to shed the pounds. So to discover how some celebs seem casually picture perfect in their bikinis, we explore the weird weight loss trick they swear by – and whether they really work!
Whether it’s cutting out carbs or fats, many diets tend to restrict your intake of a particular food group. This may even involve focusing on just one food group for a prolonged period – which, from a biological standpoint, is not ideal for your body. A controversial example of this type of restrictive diet is ‘The Master Cleanse,’ wherein you’re limited to a minimal liquid diet.
Tried and tested by stars such as Beyoncé, who stuck to this diet to prepare for her role in Dreamgirls, it involves a concoction of lemon juice, maple syrup, hot water, and powdered cayenne pepper. The Master Cleanse aims to kickstart your metabolism, which in turn increases the rate at which your body burns through fat supplies. You drink several glasses of this mixture for 10 days, abstaining from any solid food. Some brave celebs even stick it out for 45 days, slowly transitioning themselves back onto solid food with soup and fruit juice. Such starvation diets can actually have an adverse impact on your weight, leading to mass weight gain once the diet is over.
