A sore back can disrupt your plans and make even the most gentle exercise painful. As such, we've compiled some easy moves to prevent back pain!
Because many people in today’s society have sedentary lifestyles, they often struggle with constant back pain. However, sitting too much is just one of many factors that can cause pain in the back. Stress, old injuries and stiffness could also be to blame. Experts say exercise is one of the most effective ways to both heal and avoid back pain. Fortunately, there are numerous ways you can prevent back pain just by going through some exercises that take only a few minutes to do, and we’ve listed some of the easiest movements to try for you here.
Lie on your stomach with your feet flexed, elbows slightly in front of your shoulders and knees touching. Press your toes, knees and elbows into the floor while you lift your hips off the floor until they’re at the same level as your shoulders. Keep your core tight and pull your elbows and knees toward each other. Hold the position for 20 to 30 seconds.
Assume a lunge position with your legs spread wide apart, one in front of the other. Lift your back heel off the ground and reach outward with your arms so they’re in front of your heart. Push your buttocks back as far as you can and don’t move your frontward knee. As you do this, you’ll feel a stretch in your hamstrings. Make sure to keep your core tight and your spine in a neutral position so your back muscles will be well supported through the movement.
