There's nothing worse than a persistent headache when you're trying to get on with the day - knowing these headache causes can help prevent your headache!
Whilst headache causes vary widely, one thing remains the same: a sore head can be a real distraction and hinder your productivity at work and home! Knowing what causes a headache is can be the best knowledge, so that you know how to remedy it quickly and easily. Curing headaches allows you to get back to your busy day and live life without having to endure irritating pain.
One of the most common headache causes is dehydration. By the time you’re thirsty your body has already become dehydrated so, even if you drink plenty when you have a thirst, you’re still going to feel the effects of dehydration for some time. When you feel a headache coming on, one of the first questions you should ask yourself is, “How much water have I drank today?” Try to drink at least eight large glasses of water intermittently during the day and more if you’re exercising – especially before you exercise.
If coffee or tea are among your favourite beverages and you have more than two or three caffeinated drinks a day then you may want to ask yourself if you have had your usual amount of caffeine. If the answer to the caffeine question is no then you are likely experiencing caffeine withdrawal and that is likely the root cause of your headache and it may be best to reach for a caffeinated beverage. Just be sure to drink plenty of water too, as caffeine is a diuretic which can also lead to dehydration!
