The desire to have a baby is a basic one. People face obstacles when trying to get pregnant. Luckily, there are options for fertility treatments.
A fertility treatment can help you have a baby, and there’s many options out there today.
One of the most commonly used of all fertility treatments are medications such as Clomid. Such medications are designed to stimulate or increase ovulation in women. Some women may not ovulate each month. The medication can help stimulate their ovaries to ovulate at least one egg, and most women will ovulate a single egg. Taking such medications can help them ovulate more than one egg each month, increasing the chances of producing a healthy egg that can that can then get fertilized and allow them to get pregnant. Many woman will find that a taking medication for a single month may be all that is necessary for them to get pregnant. Most doctors will suggest that women take fertility medication for at least three months before moving on to other steps that may also help them get pregnant. Using such medications may cause minor side effects such as bloating, dizziness and tiredness. Such effects are temporary and will go away once the medications are discontinued.
Another of the common options for fertility treatments is that of a tubal reversal. A tubal reversal is a procedure that can help open up a woman’s tubes. Many women have chosen to have their tubes tied as a form of birth control. Such birth control is highly effective. However, a woman may change her mind and decide she would like have her tubes opened up again in order to have another baby. A tubal reversal typically involves quick surgery that is done under anesthesia. During this procedure, the woman’s tubes are reconnected, allowing the eggs to follow through the tubes again and meet sperm so she can have a fertilized egg and get pregnant. This is minor surgery and has a strong chance of success when done with by a qualified surgeon. A tubal reversal may even be covered by the person’s medical insurance, allowing them to have fertility treatments that can fix the problem in a short period of time and help them get pregnant quickly and naturally.
Many doctors recommend Clomid in conjunction with a procedure called an intra-uterine insertion (IUI). During this procedure, a doctor will insert the patient’s sperm inside the woman’s body while she is ovulating. This helps overcome any barriers that may exist in the patient’s outer vaginal body parts. A doctor will also wash the sperm, making it cleaner and removing any particles. Doing so means increases the possibility of a pregnancy. Many woman find that a single IUI, when combined with the use of Clomid, can help them become pregnant. Using fertility medications such as Clomid along with an IUI can be a safe, effective and easy method that is also inexpensive and noninvasive. The IUI procedure does not carry risks and will not cause any side effects when done under the supervision of an OB. A patient can consult with her existing OB and find out how to work with them to make an appointment for the procedure when it is clear that she is ovulating.
If using Clomid along with an IUI does not work, there are additional steps that can be taken to help couples have a child with options for fertility treatments. One such method is known as invitro-fertilization (IVF). This procedure is one in which a doctor gives a woman fertility medications to stimulate her ovaries. After that, she is triggered to ovulate. The eggs she produces are harvested under anesthesia. Then they are taken from her and fertilized with her chosen partner’s sperm outside her body in the lab. The eggs are watched closely to see which ones are most likely to become a baby. Then they are inserted back in the woman’s body. After two weeks, a pregnancy test is done to determine if she is pregnant. An IVF procedure can help by bypassing a woman’s Fallopian tubes and fertilizing the eggs outside of her body. The procedure can also help by freezing eggs she produces, allowing her to try again if she does not get pregnant from this procedure.
Sometimes, basic options for fertility treatments do not work even after several tries. Sometimes, a couple may work with medications such as Clomid, IUI and IVF only to find out they have not worked over a period of a few months or even longer. When the fertility procedures do not work, it can be hard on couples. Fortunately, there are further additional options that may work and help a couple get pregnant and bring a healthy, full term baby home. In many cases, a woman may produce eggs that are not of the best quality. This may be because she is slightly older or because she has a condition that may have caused her to go into menopause early or caused her not to produce eggs at all. In that case, there are other options that doctors have found can offer patients the baby they want to have in their lives.
If a woman has eggs that are less than ideal for creating a baby because of age or another problem with them, she can turn to a procedure known as egg donation as one of the options for fertility treatments. Egg donation is similar to IVF in that the eggs are fertilized outside of a woman’s body, but with the use of a third party to provide eggs for the woman during the procedure. Before the procedure, the woman is matched with a donor that will donate the eggs for her. The donor is asked to donate eggs for the recipient. She does so by taking medications that will stimulate her own ovaries. Meanwhile, the recipient will also get medications to synchronize her cycle with the donor. After the two cycles are matched, the donor’s eggs are harvested, fertilized with her chosen partner’s sperm, watched to determine which eggs look promising and then inserted into the recipient’s uterus. If all goes well, the donor should become pregnant and give birth a child after the procedure has been completed. This allows her to benefit from the procedure and give birth to a baby from her own uterus. While the baby is not genetically related to her, having given birth means that she is the baby’s biological parent. She and her partner can benefit in that both people are the biological parents of their own child.
